Robert Chen


Robert leverages his business, science, and cross-cultural background to help Fortune 500 business leaders and their teams communicate and lead more effectively. He works with top firms within a diverse set of industries ranging from financial services to management consulting to healthcare. Robert’s specialities include: executive presence, deepening client relationships, and designing and delivering impactful presentations. He coaches professionals in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Internally, he manages Exec-Comm’s talent management function.

Robert began his career as an equities trader with Centurion Securities before sharpening his international business and project management skills at a multinational manufacturing company in China. After returning to the United States, Robert pursued his passion for developing others as a corporate trainer at Healthfirst. In addition to his double major in Chemistry and Economics from Cornell University, Robert is currently pursuing his Executive MBA at The Wharton School. He is fully certified in Exec-Comm’s diverse programs and Marshall Goldsmith’s Stakeholder Centered Executive Coaching approach.

When Robert is not working, he enjoys helping people reach their full potential through his book, articles, and courses at Embrace Possibility, a digital media site he founded. He is also proud of his work in the Pan-Asian community where he chairs a group of senior executives dedicated to increasing diversity in the C-suite. He enjoys immersing himself in different cultures and took an around-the-world trip spanning all seven continents before having kids. Now that he is settled in Brooklyn, New York with his wife, Amy, and his two sons, Jake and Jonah, he spends much of his time as a member of either the Avengers or Justice League.
